Best Ways To Lose Weight

How to Lose Weight Fast

If you want to achieve weight loss then you must consider your calorie balance. Simply put, if you consume fewer calories by eating and drinking than you expend by physical activity, you will tend to lose weight. Physical activity includes practically everything that you do during the course of your daily routine. You are burning calories all the time throughout the day. Sitting watching the TV, typing on your computer, reading a book – all of these activities use up calories.

Your metabolic rate sounds very scientific – but it’s just the rate at which you burn calories. Of course, different people can have very different metabolic rates. We all know some lucky people who seem able to eat whatever they like without piling on the pounds. They probably have a high metabolic rate.

And that’s why you should incorporate some amount of regular exercise in your weight loss efforts. Clearly when you exercise you will burn off calories, which is a good thing of course. However, what’s even more important is that, as long as your exercise is conducted on a consistent basis, it will actually raise your metabolic rate. You will use up calories faster than before – even when you’re not exercising – and that could mean that you see improved results, and a lot quicker, than if dieting is all you do to lose weight.

The main thing is consistency. You don’t need to visit the gym or get all hot and sweaty, a low intensity workout will do the trick – as long as it is performed frequently. Walking for instance, is an extremely effective way to shed a few pounds and generally get in shape. There are no monthly membership fees, it’s easy to do, you can slot it into your daily schedule whenever you like and you don’t need any special equipment or training. It has many health benefits over and above helping you to achieve weight loss and, because it’s a low impact workout, it has a very low risk of injury.

If you want, you can increase the efficiency of your walking workout using the latest design of fitness footwear. You can now get specially engineered shoes like Skechers Shape Ups, Reebok Easy Tones, MBT’s and Fit flops sandals – all of which use specially designed soles to raise the amount of work done by your lower body muscles and to help trim your butt and tone your legs. However, if you don’t want to experiment with these, then do at least be certain that you get yourself a comfortable pair of shoes. You’ll find it hard to keep up your walking routine if you have blisters or if your shoes cause you any discomfort.

A lot of people want to know exactly how many calories walking will use. It varies according to your weight. Someone who is heavier will use more calories per mile than a lighter person – simply because they are carrying more weight over the same distance. A rough rule of thumb is that a 180 pound person will burn around about 100 calories per mile. A 130 pound individual will burn about 84 calories when walking the same distance. If you want to know more accurately how many calories you are burning then an Omron pedometer is accurate to a tolerance of 5% and can display your results in terms of distance covered, calories burned or the total number of steps taken.

Health and fitness professionals typically agree that a target of 10,000 steps daily is what’s required in order to achieve a whole host of health and fitness benefits – not just weight loss. However, there’s no need for you to do this in one fell swoop. Take your time and build up slowly. If you have any medical conditions, or if you haven’t taken any regular exercise for a while, then it would be advisable to seek the opinion of your doctor before you embark on any new exercise program. Remember, consistency is key, and taking your exercise on a regular basis. Brief periods of high intensity activity are nothing like as good as regular low level exercise. That’s why walking is such an ideal exercise solution.

Ever hear about taking creatine for weight loss? You probably won’t find many articles addressing this, because the answer to this question is trickier than it first appears. Creatine can help you reduce your body fat percentage very quickly, but you may not be losing any weight. So if your goal is fat loss or lowering your body fat percentage you will like this article. On the other hand, if you’re just looking to lose weight, then you’ll need to look elsewhere.

What Creatine Does

I will explain how creatine works without getting too technical. The usual terms are very complicated, but if I use these, you will probably lose interest fairly quickly. So here it is in its most basic form. When you take creatine it makes the muscles bigger by increasing the fluid within each individual muscle cell. This is called sarcoplasmic hypertrophy. People who take creatine usually report between 5 and 10 lbs of muscle development over a 4 to 6 week period when it is taken every day.

So How Can You Lower Your Body Fat Percentage With Creatine?

Well your body fat percentage is a function of how much fat you have compared to your total body mass. This means there are two ways to lower your body fat percentage – by losing body fat or by increasing your muscle mass. If you do it correctly, you will be able to lose 1% to 2% of body fat quickly.

How Can Creatine Make Muscles More Defined in a Short Time Frame?

I would recommend holding off on using creatine until 3-4 weeks before a vacation or special event. Many people use creatine in the winter to add muscle, but that isn’t the most effective strategy. Instead, you should preserve your muscle mass through diet for a number of months prior to your special occasion. Use exercise and what you eat to drop as much weight as you can. The creatine will work best when you have dropped as low as possible and need an extra push. About 3 or 4 weeks before your special occasion, start using 5 grams of creatine twice a day. Keep eating the right foods. Your muscles will bulk up by 5 to 15 pounds, which will decrease the visibility of any body fat by quite a lot.

This Creatine Strategy Also Ensures “Shrink Wrapped” Skin

Taking creatine right before your vacation also tightens up the skin around your abs. One of the quickest ways to lose definition around your abs is to have loose skin. When you take creatine right before your vacation your entire body will fill in any loose skin and creates a skin tight effect. So, yes, creatine may help you look as if you’ve lost weight, but no, it won’t cause you to actually lose weight.

In this article we will discuss how to lose body fat without spending hours exercising at home or at the health club. The mainstream media would like to have people believe that they must workout to lose body fat, but that simply isn’t the case. Telling people they have to work out all the time to lose body fat sounds like a great way to sell expensive health club memberships and training packages, but why not save money and look to your diet instead.

2003: The Year That I Learned the Truth

In 2003 I experienced a back injury that left me almost completely unable to walk or move. I had always been a die-hard workout fanatic and was unable to exercise for the first time in 15 years. This was really bad timing too. I had just bought tickets for a trip to Mexico with 4 other friends and we rented a beach villa in a prime spot on the Gulf of Mexico. I had 5 months until the trip and was injured so badly it hurt to stand.

I was unable to do any exercises so I shifted all my focus to diet.

I felt I had about ten pounds of body fat I should drop to stay healthy, but I couldn’t work out at all in any way. So I had to look to my diet. I had to count calories and watch what I ate. To be honest I was skeptical that this would work. Before I’d got hurt, I lived for running and jogging. I would glue myself to my treadmill for months before the summer or a vacation just to be sure I would look fit once I was on the beach. I am great at getting lean through cardio and have never done this with diet alone.

I Dieted Down to 8% Body Fat in 3 Months

Losing body fat is one thing, but losing body fat when you are already pretty lean is tricky. Especially with diet alone and no exercise? So how did I accomplish this? My plan consisted of a protein shake at breakfast and lunch and then a salad with rice wine vinegar and grilled chicken for each dinner. It was a bland way to eat, but it worked well. For dessert, I would allow myself a Fuji apple a few nights a week.

How To lose Body Fat Through Calorie Counting, Not Exercise

The biggest thing I learned from my injury is that you can lose body fat if you restrict your calories in your diet strictly enough. For example, the average calorie count for an adult male is approximately 2,000 calories per day, so I ate about 1,200 calories, giving me an 800 calorie deficit each day. Think about it: how much exercise would you have to do to burn 800 calories? Now keep in mind, everyone is different, and so you don’t need to use such an extreme diet in order to start losing body fat. Cutting any number of calories regularly can help.

Exercise Does Help Your Body to Maintain Muscle

Unfortunately, there is a drawback to losing body fat by diet alone and that is in the form of some loss in muscle mass. You won’t lose a lot, but you will lose a little, if you are unable to do even basic exercise or training while you are on this diet. My story is an extreme example of how to lose body fat without spending hours working out, but it taught me that you can stay lean and trim just through diet and keep your muscle mass with light exercise, not hours in the gym.

There’s no doubt that they can be an expensive item of equipment, but exercise shoes are one of the most important pieces of fitness equipment that you will have. It doesn’t matter what sport you play or what your fitness program is, you need a good pair of shoes in order to get the maximum enjoyment and health benefits from it. If your shoes are badly designed, or if they don’t fit you properly, then you could get blisters, fail to enjoy your activity and even increase the risk of sprains and other injuries.

Some sports do require very specialized types of shoes, but the large majority of people will be happy enough with tennis shoes or cross trainers for general exercise – such as walking and jogging for example. At the moment, new designs of exercise shoes are appearing on the market. These are primarily aimed at people who either already walk for exercise or who would like to walk for exercise but struggle to find time to fit it in. They seem to have sprung up from nowhere, but they’re now becoming so widespread that a new term has been coined for them – “toning shoes”.

The idea is that these shoes are designed in such a way as to increase the amount of work done by the muscles in the lower body whilst walking normally. There are a number of different manufacturers with their own offerings these days, and designs vary, but this is generally achieved by using a specially designed sole.

Many brands – such as Fit flops sandals, Skechers Shape Ups and Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) include a curved sole. This is intended to encourage a gentle rolling motion whenever the foot contacts the ground. This reduces any impact shock and is intended to reproduce the effect of walking barefoot on a soft, yielding surface such as sand or thick, lush grass.

The Easy Tones from Reebok are the latest offering available on the market and also use a specially designed sole. However, instead of using a curved sole, Easy Tones have air pods included which produce a small amount of imbalance. The idea is that the lower body muscle will try to compensate for this and regain balance. This means that extra work is being carried out and your lower body gets toned. Fitflops also use this principle as well as the curved sole, in the shape of something they have dubbed “microwobbleboard” technology.

Of the brands on the market Fitflops and MBTs look least like fitness footwear. This will be an attractive proposition for many people as the shoes are claimed to be capable of providing you with a “workout while you walk”. The suggestion is clearly that you will be able to tone your lower body by wearing the shoes whilst you go about your daily business. To be fair, MBTs are aimed more at people who might want to improve posture or reduce back and joint pain than those who wish to tone up and trim down.

The Skechers Shape Ups range does include some shoes which don’t look like fitness footwear. They have Mary Janes for example. The Reebok Easy Tones range is much more focused on the mainstream fitness and exercise market and look very much like what they are – high tech fitness footwear.

So, can you really get a “workout while you walk” just by wearing these new wonder shoes? Can you really tone and trim your lower body just by pulling on a different pair of shoes in the morning? It’s a very attractive prospect. There will be a lot of people who would dearly love to take more exercise but who find it hard to make the time for this in their daily schedule.

Opinions are divided at the moment. Needless to say, all of the manufacturers are keen to cite the results of independent scientific testing which validates the effectiveness of their products. There is certainly a lot of very positive feedback from satisfied users of this type of shoe. By the same token, a number of health specialists and doctors have expressed doubts over many of the claims being made.

These shoes sell for prices which are comparable with those of normal exercise shoes. The range of styles and colors available are extensive – so there should be something that is to your taste. Perhaps the next time you need a new pair of shoes anyway, you might want to consider trying a pair of toning shoes and finding out if they work for you.
