The tendency of the body is therefore to burn the glucose instead of the stored fats.

4. HIGH CARB DIET. Eating food high in carbohydrates is said to make you lose weight. Fresh fruits and vegetables are high in carbohydrates. They also help flush out toxins. Whole grains are also rich in carbohydrates. They are digested by the body slowly thereby preventing sudden changes in glucose levels. Also, with a high carb diet, you lower the risk of getting things like yeast infection or diabetes.

5. SOUTH BEACH DIET. In this diet, bad carbs are replaced with good carbs and bad fats are replaced with good fats. When you follow it, you are not expected to deprive yourself of food. In fact, you still eat regularly as if you’re not on a diet. However, the food that you should eat have been carefully selected to eliminate the bad carbs that causes hunger cycles and the bad fats that lead to cholesterol build up and heart problems.

6. ATKINS DIET. Atkins diet was designed by Dr. Robert Atkins. This diet is basically a low carb diet. Dr. Atkins said that with low-carbohydrate diet, the body burns more calories. With low carbohydrates, blood glucose in the body also becomes low. So instead of the body burning glucose for energy, it burns stored fats.

These are just some of the diet programs that have gained following in recent years. You can try mind control things like hypnosis or meditation, but to really lose weight, you’re going to have to go on some kind of diet. For each diet, there are people who claim that it really worked. But there are others who claim otherwise. It is important that you consult a doctor or a nutritionist before getting into any type of diet program for weight loss. This way, you are assured that whatever you are following will really work and will not cause you health problems as well.
